Immersion in the Harbor City & The Call of the Sea
Growing up in Kaohsiung, a city that lives and breathes by the water, Max’s childhood memories are filled with the sea breeze, the sound of crashing waves, and the golden glow of the beaches. He witnessed the ocean’s ever-changing forms: from the shimmering gold under the morning sun to the quiet violet of twilight, and the deep, inky green of the night. These shifting colors and textures were deeply imprinted in his mind, becoming the starting point of his artistic exploration.

He found that traditional two-dimensional painting struggled to capture the rough yet delicate quality of the ocean. Thus, Max turned to mixed-media texture painting (combining plaster and acrylics). The weight and plasticity of this medium allow him to truly "sculpt" the impact of the waves, the granularity of the sand, and the traces left by receding tides.
